I'm just getting back into running and there are so many more apps than there used to be. Which do you like better - Strava or Map My Run?

Strava. Map my run is buggy and a steaming pile of crap though it used to work better in the past and I was sad to lose over 8 years of logged runs when I switched lol.

I use both, only for cycling. Each have their pros and cons. I've used MMR a lot longer than Strava and personally I think Strava is better. MMR also tends to be more buggy and drop GPS signal more often, or even worse, not finding a signal at all when Strava pinpoints without any problem.

Could try Endomondo; own by same folks as MFP, Under Armor. I keep Strava for cycling as a comparison tool but don't trust the GPS based stats, errors inherent in the technology is a bit much for me. It's probably not that big of an issue for running.

I used to use Strava but I like Runkeeper better personally. I haven't tried Map My Run.

I use Strava for the huge community (many MFP members on there) and feature set. Just the free version.

I feed it data from my Garmin watch now, but when I started I used my phone running Strava to capture my runs and rides.

I had consistent issue with MMR in the past, losing sessions etc.

Strava is far superior, although I now use a Garmin and send the data to Strava and Endomondo

I have used RunKeeper, MapMy---, and Strava.

I decided that Strava operates more consistently, has more accurate calorie burn estimation, and provides more information on past workouts.
