Does anyone have a favorite app that shows calories burned from weight training? I love this MFP app, but if you log strength it doesn't tell you calories burned. TIA

You can log strength training under the cardio section. But given the wide variables involved, take it with a grain of salt. It's just impossible for a formula to predict. I cut them in half.

You don't burn that much from lifting.

Since the calorie burns are based on time, it is virtually impossible to come up with a "standard" formula for lifting weights. I could lift 15000lbs and it take an hour or 30000lbs and it still take an hour...but would provide different burns.

This combined with the fact that you don't burn a whole lot lifting, it's reasonable that MFP doesn't guess.

You can get a generic number by putting in strength training in the cardio section, but who knows how accurate that is.

FWIW, I use 125 calories per hour I am in the gym.

Thanks all. I knew it wasn't much, I was just curious. I really wish it burned a ton because cardio is the worst!
