Yes. If you are thin you can definitely feel it. I noticed this about 6 months ago lol. It is the pulse from the aortic valve that runs into the abdomen.

If you have any pain or discomfort in that area, I'd get it checked out just to be on the safe side ( people can get blockages in that area).

Thanks all! Obviously normal for some people! I don't have any pain, but it's weird.... I don't like it. It's very noticeable when I'm lying in bed on my back.

Hey, atleast is doing it's job, providing your digestive track and lower half of your bodynwith blood.

But completely normal, I've had instances feeling it throughout my entire life.

Yes! It's so prominent that I can't rest a book or even my arms holding a book there to read. It jostles my book/my arms up and down a lot. I'm told it's normal.

Haha I am so happy to see this post. I started to notice this a few months ago when I got near my goal weight. I immediately freaked out, started googling, and then texted the thinnest person I knew to see what she said.

Yes! It always creeps me out when it does that and I can see it, but I know it's my pulse.

    It's normal.
  • I'm fat and I can feel that sometimes. It's your abdominal aorta, one of the largest arteries in your body, and it lies against the back of the abdominal cavity, just to the left of the spine.

I'm glad that it's normal! I didn't notice it at all when I was bigger. Thanks for the reassurance!
