I just had my annual physical and I am active but my blood sugar levels were 6.2. My doctor advised a calorie intact and exercise and I will see him in three months. I do not want to become diabetic so therefore am using this site to count my calories each day. Anyone have any suggestions for exercise as for strength training. I am walking 3 days a week or more for 30 minutes at a brisk pace. I work in my yard, swim and dance. I want to achieve my goal of 25 pounds in 6 months.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things. I do the circuit weight training at the gym. No heavy lifting just light weights. At 63 and with a bad back and leg I really need the strength training. Diet helps too. You can send me a friend request is you wish!

Prediabetes can be a scary word to hear. Move your body at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week. Aim for weight loss of 7% of your body weight. Limit your carbs to 30-60 grams per meal, 0-15 grams for snacks. Go to www.diabetes.org to read more.
