Fit bit

When I first started using my fit bit and my fitness pal, it would sync my steps and give me additional calories to eat. At that time I was set to eat 1290. I adjusted my calorie intake to 1560 in my fitness pal to lose 1.5 lbs a week and for whatever reason my fit bit gets calculated as negative exercise points instead of positive, reducing my calorie intake. Why is this happening? What am I not understanding? Shouldn't I be getting additional calories added on for exercising? Please help!

Connect your accounts at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/fitbit
Set your goal to .5 lb. for every 25 lbs. you're overweight: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided
Enable negative calorie adjustments: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings
In the MFP app, go to More > Steps and choose Fitbit.
Ignore your Fitbit calorie goal and follow MFP's, eating back your adjustments. No need to log any step-based activity—your Fitbit is tracking it for you. Log non-step exercise (like swimming or biking) either in Fitbit or in MFP—never both. Exercise logged in MFP overwrites your Fitbit burn during that time.
