I have been enjoying my turkey chilli as of late. I have no idea how many calories are in it, but surely cant be too many. what I did notice though, the passata I use has a fair amount of sugar and salt when compared to chopped tinned tomatoes, so those can be used instead.

Recipe:
500g turkey breast mince
2 x large red onion
2 x large bell peppers
3 x fresh chillies (deseeded)
1 x Carton of Tesco passata (or 2 x tins of chopped tomatoes)
2 x tins of Haricot Beans (rinse these)
3 x cloves of garlic
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp cinnamon
1 or 2 tsp Mild chilli powder
1tsp flake salt
1tsp coarse ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ground cloves

Method:

Rough chop the onion/peppers/fresh chilli/garlic and place in a food processor. Give it a quick buzz so that it is now very finely chopped. Put to one side.

In a bowl/pestle and mortar, combine the cumin, paprika, chilli powder, salt, pepper and cinnamon ensuring it is thoroughly mixed, then place to one side.

Brown off the turkey mince, drain and leave put in a pot at low heat. Add the Haricot beans chopped veg and mix together with the turkey mince. Next add the passata, stir well, then add the spice mix.

Turn up the heat to medium, and add water if required. Reduce until ready. Basically till the point where the excess water has been evaporated.

Hope you guys enjoy this, personally I love it with some pitta bread.

Any questions just let me know :).

Andy
