Pulled Chest vs. Musculoskeletal Pain - any input helpful!

Hi guys. Weird one. About 8 months ago I pulled my chest (grade II) and then it healed (in around 6 weeks) and I slowly got back to strength training.

6 weeks ago, the same area started generating more headaches for me (hard to tell from what as onset was slow). The pain was different at times, but other times exactly the same as when strained. Long story short, it is duller and more spreadout this time (hard to localize the pain), but it is not improving at all and the onset is gradual. Some days it goes away then comes back the other days. When at the worst, it is often hard to take a proper breath, feels like someone is holding me down.

I went to the GP who said that for now I should wait and do RICE as it is too early to start assessing for more long term conditions. He suggested stretches. I think he is clueless to be honest, he even started asking me what I think it was.

What is scaring me though is that the pain is being accompanied by a whole host of other issues, like fatigue, some flu-like symptoms, lethargy, general unwellness. Sleep is not affected much though.

I haven't been able to hit the gym since this started and I am afraid going back will make things worse. I don't know guys, I am worried this could be something like Fibromyalgia? Or maybe just Costochondritis. But I just don't think it is pulled. Anyone had any similar issues?

Go to a new doctor yo. Namely a hard time breathing is particular cause for concern as well as recurring chest pain... And lethargy. Not to be alarmist but that could indicate heart problems. It might be from the injury and likely is but you never know. It might be helpful for the doctor to evaluate your symptoms considering and not considering your previous injury as they might be biased to brush it off as a result of that.
