today i am wearing a dress for the first time in years. my two Bourke parakeets (they're pink) are bemused by the change in my feathers today. I have attained size 1X. i started this journey battling health problems at 265 before stumbling across MFP.
i call it cupboard love--they want to share breakfast or lunch. don't understand my absorption with teas lately at all, tho they dutifully nibble at each bag and then shake their heads. celery is a hit; they don't like tomatoes but will attempt the skins for my sake. they like tilapia but won't come near the bison.
they've suffered the indignity of being squirted by pink grapefruit and tried the orange rinds--the fruit is too wet for them. strawberries are a hit--the leaves--and so are apples. jury is still out on zucchini and cukes.
and they make me keep moving. i'm allowed a certain timeframe to post and read on the computer and then they're swooping around or will 'knock' something over in the kitchen (dishes in the rack) to make me get up and come see. i take the hint, reward them with millet and head out for my walk.
finally headed for 200--made 203 today after some stops and starts. just taking it a day at a time with my avian support team.

Congratulations on the "new" dress!!! The loss is fantastic. :n) I'm thrilled that you're getting birdie support. Our pets are important parts of our lives. It's wonderful that you are sharing this migration into healthy living with them. Congratulations, and keep flying high!

Congratulations!!! I'm sure you are soooooo proud of yourself! I'm proud of you!!!! It was fun to read about your parakeets. They certainly keep you on your toes, don't they? I have a cat and she does absolutely nothing to help motivate me... she'd be purrrfectly happy, if I slept all day and night like she does!! (lol) I do enjoy her company, though. She is sweet and not very demanding.... most of the time. Thanks for sharing your triumph! I really appreciate it. It has encouraged me. I just started on my weight loss journey in early June. I know I will achieve my goal one day, I just have to be patient and keep on striving for success. I know I will make it!! I know we will BOTH make it!! Thanks again for sharing!! God bless!
