Going against the grain...High carb, high calorie

Hi! My name is Jessica. I'm 22, from Seattle area Washington, and mother of 1 (boy, 21m) with one on the way. I lost 25+ pounds after my last pregnancy when I decided to make a big diet change. I tried out a high carb/low fat plant-based diet, and I not only lost all my pregnancy weight but then some. Not only that, but now doing this for a year and a half I have not gained the weight back, while for the first time ever not restricting my calorie intake.
I also feel better than I ever have health-wise and find that this pregnancy is going so much more smoothly than last!
My next goal after this pregnancy is to get into my best physical shape. Feel free to friend me if you want another motivation buddy!

I can totally see the difference in your pictures. It's great to hear all the different ways of how things work for people. I'm kind of experimenting with how I eat and to test what works best for me with my food diary to get an idea of what I should be doing. Even though I've always been diabetic I've never actually had a specific or controlled diet. And now after logging all the food I've been eating these last few days, and seeing the changes of how I ate one day compared to the next, it's made me realize how bad some of the stuff was that I'm eating and now I'm going to try to switch a lot of things by trying to not eat as much of those things while adding better things. First day of my food diary it said I wasn't eating enough, the second day it said I was doing better, and the next day I was over a few of my nutrients, but my calories and carbs were never over my limit. It was mostly the sugar, sodium, protein, and fat that kept changing. I'm going to have to look out for that and see if that makes a difference. Maybe it was never the carbs or calories that was a problem for me...0
