Pain in my right foot during running and after

Hi,

On my last few runs I have had some pain in my right foot during running and I have also felt it after running. The pain seems to run from the middle of my foot all the way down to the heel of my foot. Last week I did a run and I had pins and needles in my foot during running which was annoying and painful. I was wondering what the foot pain could be and if anyone has experienced it and if there is a cure for it and what I should do?

I did a marathon back in May and ever since the marathon running hasnt felt the same. I havent enjoyed running and the time has gone by really slowly on my watch and I dont know why. I dont seem to have much motivation to run and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this after doing a marathon?

Have you seen your doctor? It could be plantar fasciitis unfortunately...

Firstly the pain could be PF as suggested but best to get it checked out first. Dont bother with seeing a doctor as they will probably just tell you to rest it, stay off the running and come back in a month if it doesnt get better. Youre far better off going to see a physiotherapist especially if you can find one who specialises in sports injuries. You'll get immediate diagnosis(well quicker than a doctor would anyway) and the treatment will be done so you can get back running asap.

As for the lack of motivation perhaps it's because you are no longer running for anything? Personally after my big 'A' race of the year I lose a bit of focus until I get to the point where I can start planning next years race schedule.

Actually, that's a better idea so I would go with that suggestion as well.

    Hi,

Thanks for your replies. I dont know if its better to see a doctor or a physio. Its not like I am in a rush to get back to running as I dont have any races planned. Maybe seeing a physio would be the best idea but obviously physio's arent cheap and seeing a doctor wouldnt cost me anything. I did see a physio a few months ago when I had a knee injury and I did find him pretty good.
