thought my body was looking a little better. I haven't gained any of my 2 pounds back, but my jeans are so much tighter. Is this muscle? If it is, will it be easier for me to lose the fat in these areas since Ive gained muscle there?

Did your jeans just come out of the dryer?
It's highly unlikely you gained enough muscle mass in 1 month to make your jeans tighter. More likely it's water retention associated with your new exercise. Keep eating at a deficit, keep working out. Give it a few more weeks and see how your jeans fit. Or even better, take measurements!0 -
when I first started strength training my jeans got tight in the legs too. It was just water retention not muscle.0
