ok, so I want to gain weight. Admissions one, I a not a morning person and find it hard to eat a large breakfast. Has anyone had a similar problem or got an answer as to how to fit in those extra cals elsewhere. Does it matter that I eat more later in the day?

No it doesn't matter where you fit in the extra calories.0

Time of day does not matter when it comes to gaining weight. So if you prefer you can eat a large lunch and large dinner with tons of snacks instead
You can even have a bedtime snack if you like.0 -
Try eating foods that take longer to digest before bed, sleeping is when your body tends to burn calories. If you can cut that down a little it will help your overall gains.0

Your body is burning calories throughout the entire day. If it's not burning them through digestion, they are burning calories running your vital systems. But if someone is struggling to get enough calories, they want calorie dense foods such as nuts, avocado, fatty cuts of meat/fish, ice cream, etc...

You will find it easier if you break your meals up, say, up to five a day (three meals and two snacks). It is OK to have breakfast later when you are really hungry. You might also try drinking your calories with a cream-filled coffee or tea in the morning.0

Try whole fat dairy, extra cheese/butter/oil/sauces on your food, bigger portions of meat, any calorific snacks you enjoy e.g. peanut butter sandwiches, ice cream. Doesn't really matter when you eat them, as long as they get eaten.0
