Where should I be?

Hi,
I started MFP in May and have found this really easy to stick with. I am 36 years old and 5'2/5'3. I was sick of feeling fat all the time and my friend tired MFP and it really worked for her so I decided to give it a shot! It was a rocky start but now I'm eating (not always the greatest but )still under my calorie allowance. I exercise everyday at home and have recently started jogging again(try two/three a week). Now four months (almost five) later, I'm down 14.4 pounds(yahoo!). My question is, is that too little weight to have lost in that amount of time. My friend lost 30 pounds in 4 months without changing her diet but staying under her calorie count and exercising. So, should I be doing something different?

Never compare yourself to others. That is just a joy stealer. You're down 14.4 - that's fabulous. My math is terrible - but that's like a pound a week right? Perfectly on track.

This, plus if she has more to lose she can afford to lose more quickly.

Awesome weight loss, keep it up!!

I see you have 16 pounds to go so your weight loss will slow down. Don't get discouraged, you can do this!!

Thank you so much! I want to lose more than my goal weight, I just didn't want to set my goal weight to lose too much and then be disappointed. After I reach my goal weight I hope to re-set my goal weight and lose 20 more pounds!

This is a fantastic loss! Congratulations and well done! Never compare yourself to other people - every one is totally unique and your body is clearly losing at a rate it is comfortable with. Please don't get hung up on the targets other people are hitting, you are doing brilliantly and you are also a lot healthier and a lot fitter than you once were! Keep it up :)
