I'm very strong in terms of weight lifting I could easily lift alone for a whole gym session. Running is so good for me as it helps me lose pounds and increases my fitness level for horseriding however I absolutely hate it. As soon as I get going, 30 seconds in I want to stop as I feel like I'd rather die than do cardio, does anyone have any tips to beat this feeling???

For me when i feel like that i just bump music in my ears or teadmill speakers. listen to the songs that pump you up and get you all in your feelings, if its bachata or reggeton, hip hop, elctro ect,. Whatever makes you excited and ready to dance or feel like you're about to perform a concert listen to that and you should get motivated0

I feel the same way. I use rowing and skipping for my cardio. I run once a fortnight, doing it outside while listening to a podcast makes it bearable.0

Maybe try one of the countless other forms of physical activity. Everything burns calories.
To lose pounds, consume fewer calories.

Slow down. Newbie runners often take too quick a pace. You should be aiming for a pace that still allows you to have a conversation out loud without gasping for air between words. If you can't do that you are running too fast.
You'll still get virtually all the benefit of calorie burn and cardio vascular system improvement if you slow down. Don't be afraid to do run-walk-run at the start. Follow a structured program like C25K for guidance as to how to scale in.

Thankyou very much for the advice I think I felt before if it was to do any good I should go straight in the deep end but now I shall slow down0 -
Why run if you hate it
I hate it ..it's too boring
do some HIIT instead ..get your cardio rowing, cycling, elliptical, swimming or any other way0 -
No use gagging down a food because you heard it is "good for you". The same thing with exercise. If you want to increase your cardiovascular endurance, sure, find a cardio activity you like. But it doesn't have to be running.
There's Zumba, spin classes, skipping mentioned upthread, rowing, biking.0 -
Why run if you hate it? Makes no sense. Walk instead. Walk faster if you think it does not have the same benefits as running. Or swim. Or go for a ride on a bike. Or dance. Or find a cardio class. Or try martial arts. Or play basket ball or soccer. Or... you get the idea0

well, there's about a gazillion more forms of good exercise to do...so maybe try one of those.
personally i like riding my bike..so i do that.0 -

Seconding this advice. If you can't pass the "talk test" (can you talk in complete sentences?), you're going too fast. Slow down until you can. Most of your running should be at an easy to moderate pace.0
