After following my intense 8 week training plan of being heavily active for 6 days a week I am taking a short rest break. Mum focussing on doing mindful forms of exercise such as walking & yoga over the next few days. What does everyone else do during rest breaks?

Try to keep my mind from telling me I'm being lazy when my body needs the break. :)

We'd generally take a day per week and do what we called "active recovery". We'd generally play ultimate frisbee, short jogs, ice skate, yoga, rock climbing, or whatever you really enjoy that isn't normally part of your normal workout.

Swim, walk, cycle, jog. Whatever active recovery activity you enjoy! Also absolutely fine to do absolutely nothing if your body requires complete rest. Remind yourself that if you allow your body to rest and repair you can work harder the next time you do work out so it's not time wasted! Some weeks I take a complete rest day, some weeks I do a lower impact activity such as swimming or walking and other weeks I don't feel the need and I go for it every day.
Do what works for you and what you enjoy.

    I rest, chill out, relax.

And maybe watch training footage. A lot. And nitpick tiny little form errors. Then focus on fixing them when I get back to it
