I'm a traveler who needs to travel lighter!

Hi, I'm Ninkasi.
I'm 49, 5'10', and I need to lose at least 50 pounds. I travel a lot, internationally, for work and I have to be medically cleared every year. My blood pressure has become a problem so I need to fix it for professional reasons and also, obviously, to avoid dying. My doctor says if I lose the weight the problem will be self-correcting, so here I am. I've never had my body fail me in such a fundamental matter either, so I have that to work through too.
I have followed a paleo-ish diet in the past so my plan is to tighten it up and weigh my portions (sigh). Mindless snacking is another thing I'm going to have to watch, so at least I know my problem areas.
I love to travel, both for work and for fun, and have been all over the world and the US. I'm a (very) amateur yogini. I also like fashion, which is another reason I need to drop the weight. I have a husband and five cats, but no kids.
I'm open to any and all friend requests; a burden shared is a burden halved!

Just a bit of wisdom here, which you've probably heard, but forgotten!
"As you grow older, your body changes: your metabolism changes, the speed of how foods and nutrients are processed changes, your body's reactions to different foods, how (or even whether or not) they're easily processed also changes and the results of excercise changes, BECAUSE of all of the above!"
So just because you're following health practices you've always followed, it does NOT always follow that your body will follow suit as it always did!!!!!!!
Yeah...i said exactly what i meant!0 -

Hi Peggy,
You're right, I do know all this on an intellectual level. But a reminder is always helpful! Thanks for the kind words and straight talk.0
