Hi everyone..13 week ago i u fortunately suffered a slipped c5-6..exrutiating pain in neck shoulders full left arm to fingers..ive seen private physio weekly n made great improvements..yet when i run which ive started in the last two days only started at one mile slow jog..the pain is still there..quite dissheartened and frustrated..have any of you guys got through this who can give me some hope

    I hope that your neck keeps improving.
    I would say remember to breath and actually think about relaxing your shoulders. When I run I tighten up.
    Be careful. Listen to your body if running is a good idea each day too

    Maybe you could try doing some physical therapy too. I would chat with your doctor about it! Back injuries are tough because you use back for everything from walking to sitting in a chair!! They'll be able to get your 100% mobile and pain free in no time! Best of luck!

    Find a physical theropist that understands runners or where he/she is a runner themself.

    I had the same type of injury. It took 3 months for me to heal and, unfortunately, running was the worst. Lots of pounding. On the bright side, the big picture, that was 21 years ago and I've been running and exercising ever since and never had a recurrence. Just listen to your body and don't overdo it. You need time to heal. And, every neck/back problem is unique so listen to your doctor.

    If pounding is the deal, might you start by doing laps running in a pool? Great resistance through the water and you still get your heart rate up.
