Needing a helpful hand....

Hello there, this is not my first time on here, but I'm hoping to stick around this time.
Like the rest of us I've had some struggles over the years and I've tried to kid myself that I'm ok like this. But for goodness sakes I really need to get a grip. I'll be 50 next April and have a trip planned to the USA (I'm a UK lady). We'll be there for 3 weeks, starting in San Fransisco and going across to New York via train and coach.
So I have from now til April to shift about 35lbs.
I'm from Kent, married with two grown up sons. My lovely Mum recently lost her battle with the awful Big C, so I'm grieving but having to be strong for my Dad.
Please feel free to add me and hopefully encourage me to log on here EVERY day.

Hi Julie,
I am so sorry about your loss.
You most certainly do not need to get a grip. Life is tough and things happen that truly test us. You're a human being with feelings. You're grieving your lovely Mum and have dealt with struggles - you are MORE than okay how you are. You sound like a very strong lady.
You have your goal in mind and this is totally achievable. Of course, tracking what you eat daily is going to help enormously but don't beat yourself up if you miss a day or two. You need to find a method of doing this that is sustainable to your lifestyle - something that won't burn you out and cause you needless stress. Exercise will of course help the process so if you can fit light work-outs in to the mix then fantastic but again, find what your comfortable with and go with it. You'll be amazed at what you will achieve.
Wishing you all the luck and remember this forum will offer support when you need it0 -
Hi Julie. So sorry to hear about your Mom, but really glad to see that during this hard time you're determined to take control and have a big, fun trip to look forward to. Good for you!
I'm out in the wild west of the US - in Las Vegas. I'm 45 and a mom of 5. It's so much harder to lose the weight at 45 than I did at 30, but logging all of my food and getting some movement in regularly is working.
Add me as a friend. I'm on here a couple of times a day0 -
Part of our trip takes us to Las Vegas!!0
