Hi I'm new to this and was wondering what would be good nutrition goals for polyunsaturated and mono fats as they are set at 0 my nutrition chart always shows them in the red.
I'm trying to loose weight from 9 stone 3 to 8 stone 3 and have managed to loose 4 1b in 3 weeks so far.

Thanks in advance

Rachel

Whatever your total fat goal is. There is no reason to restrict these further.

There is no daily recommended value but you should try for these over saturated

Ab right I get you now. So basically I need to eat more of the poly and mono and less of the saturated. Also I need to drop my body percentage of fat it's currently at 33% but should be about 25, so I'm guessing more poly and mono and less saturated will get me there quicker ?

Just eat fats like olive oil, coconut oil etc and you will be good to go.
As with everything, the less processed the better.

    Thanks for your help.
I use Tiana Virgin coconut oil and scan the barcode and it comes up that 10 g is made up of over 9 g of saturated fat. Is that right do u think cos I thought it was supposed to be a healthy fat. Please excuse my ignorance I'm a newbie at calorie counting and nutritional stuff.

It has been my understanding that saturated fats from a plant source is healthier than saturated fats from a meat source.

Doesn't make any difference to this. The advice to sub mono and polyunsaturated for some saturated (or to keep saturated below a particular level -- no need to avoid it) is about nutrition/health effects, and some currently challenge even that. (I tend to try to follow it, since it's good to include a lot of the sources of mono and polyunsaturated fats in your diet anyway.)

The 0 goal is just an MFP glitch -- it's supposed to say N/A, with the only limit related to your total fat goal (and so long as you stick to calories it's okay to go over that too).

So am I getting it right in saying my goal for fat a day is 40g in total including mono poly and saturated altogether.

Fat goals vary depending on calories (or what people choose), but if that's your fat goal, then yes.
