New to MFP and love it

Three years ago I hit the heaviest weight I've gotten to yet at 273lbs (male). I was at the Dr and thought that there was no way the scale was right. Then I started seeing pictures of myself on Facebook and it sunk in.
I did a vegetarian diet for a year, it helped me to focus on what I was eating and I lost about 30lbs over the year. Started sliding back into old eating habits and realized I was stuck. In February of this year I made a commitment to myself to change everything.
A friend of mine recommended a weight lifting program that used high reps and low weight. At 44 that light weight made the difference between getting started or failing out of the gate. I went through the first three months and am now on the second round, about halfway through. I was stuck at 230 for a while and got wind of MFP off of Reddit. Since then the weight had been coming off. 220/217 depending on the day with the ultimate goal being 200lbs sometime this year.
I'm not in a rush, I work out six times a week and log my food daily (finally). I don't eat sugary foods, it was pretty easy to get past once I abstained for a while. It hasn't been easy, and I still have cheat weekend where I miss my goal deficit but I'm always careful to get back on with a vengeance come Monday.
I'm excited to be here, look forward to meeting other determined individuals and posting my success pics once I hit my goal weight. Feel free to follow my diary as it's completely open and add me if you choose. I'll share encouragement or advice, although I'm no expert, I've learned a lot along the way. Choose determination over motivation every day.
