rate my diet

I dont measure anything, also I like consistency (less variety) in my diet because it makes shopping and cooking so much easier and everything tastes great!

breakfast: 6-9 am: 4 eggs (omega 3 and vitamin E enhanced) scrambled in coconut oil, 1 cup full fat plain yogurt, 2 slices ezekiel toast, 2 mugs of strong black coffee

other meal: 3-5 pm: 3-4 oz of full fat cheese, 6-12 oz of grilled or roasted meat (beef, pork, fish), 3-5 cups of steamed green veggies (broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, green beans, peas, okra etc).

if I get hungry later I always keep a container of nuts/seeds on hand and I avoid unhealthy foods like the plague (with occassional treat).

what do you think?

    What are your goals?

Why do you say you don't measure anything and then provide measurements for all your foods?

Avoid unhealthy things like the plague... well let me tell you something; everything is unhealthy in abundance.

I'll repeat: what are your goals?

    Stats would probably help, too.

It's impossible to critique a diet without some kind of context.

Dry toast? How much coconut oil? Two meals a day plus snacks?

2 being high or low? At first glance, I think the meal for the day looks good. Proteins, veggies, low sugar. I look at people's open diaries and yes, they eat under 1200 calories, but there is nary a vegetable in there. Great, I guess if you are under 30 and think you are invincible. People will pay for their lack of veggies in their 30's and onward.

You mention no goals or calories, so I will just rate this from a completely personal perspective, like how happy would I be with myself if I was supposed to eat like this for whatever reason :)
For my taste, this sounds so incredibly boring, I would prefer a hospital meal probably. Not to mention I am one who gets happy on small meals and snacks and who loves exciting recipes, with lots of spices, herbs, side-dishes, sauces etc. So, when it comes to how satisfied I would be with your plan, on a scale of 0 to 10, 10 being perfect, maybe 1?

When it comes to what I would consider a healthy balanced diet, 10 being this for me when it comes to balanced/healthy: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/healthy-eating-plate/, I would rate yours with 2-3.

How cruel we all are to the young newbies on occasion.... Actually I read his entry as someone just starting out, maybe having read something a bit on the paleo line perhap. Why? For muscle gain perhaps? But perhapds not . Certainly not for weight loss, as eating all that protein is way over what you would utilise daily for maintenance, so much would convert to carb and get stored as fat. And green veg, but also legumes and the dire ezekiel bread so more carby than all the usual suspects like kale and spinach. I also agree with s-shortridge about the general lack of vegetables - there wasn't much colour there but green, so not many micronutrients present for the long haul. That seemed part of the problem, actually, that I couldn't work out his planned long haul.

I don't think though that I've seen such a thorough and universal smack-down of someone, and I must say I was pleased at the robust response although I felt sorry for the poor writer as well. Too polite doesn't cut it if you want to learn rather than just get a pat on the head (or so it seemed to me as to most I imagine.). I've been eating in the LCHF/paleo/keto spectrum for over 10 years, and consider it all very much still a work in progress. I look at it this way, if someone like Dr tim noakes can say after two books and much respect :"whoops! I got it totally wrong!", its probably a good idea to keep an open mind on all the food stuff. So I hope the poor deactivated person will quietly sneak back (perhaps under a disguise), as ther is much to be learned here, however you choose to eat.

If it works for you and your goals, great.

For me, that diet wouldn't work. I need to eat more than twice a day and need significantly more carbs.
