Do any of you have some tips on boosting metabolism?
Any at all
And foods
Perhaps a certain time (like in the morning or before going to bed)
Just anything to help it out a little?
Thanks

Exercise
Foods that "boost" your metabolism don't actually boost your metabolism to a point where it would make much of a difference.0 -

I told by my nutrition and personal trainer weight lifting for me.0

Eat hot peppers until your throat burns. Then, when you realize listening to random advise on the internet doesn't always go as expected, listen look up skeptically what most of people have said in this thread. So far most of it is good, but learn for yourself, you already fell for me telling you to cram peppers.-1

I have tried everything to increase my metabolism. Nothing works. CICO is the only thing that has worked and will work long term.0

Yep, this is exactly how I do it.
No foods will boost your metabolism. Just move more

Metabolism is a process that releases energy from stored reserves- the only way to increase the process is by increasing your demand for energy. Sit rather than lie, stand rather than sit etc. Exercise is the best way.0

Avoid ANY weight-loss pill that claims to raise metabolism. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!0

There's only three ways to raise your metabolism. Do more exercise & daily movement, build muscle or gain more fat. I'd not recommend the last one at all.0

While food has some impact on metabolism, it is minimal compared to activity.0

There are certain foods that can boost the metabolism. You might boost your metabolism 4% by taking green tea extract (maybe an extra 60 calories), but I'm not aware of any studies that show that you can also take item Y and the effects stack.
Typically it is easier and cheaper to just cut calorie intake and exercise more.0 -

QFT
@ughh740 Do you think your metabolism is slow? Do you have thyroid issues? Have you used an online calculator to calculate an estimate for your TDEE? Why do you think your metabolism needs a boost, if I can ask?
The easiest way for me to burn calories is to move more. I don't mean exercise, per se (though that helps). I mean just be more active all day. Take the stairs, park further from your destination, take the bus and get off a stop early, walk to the mailbox, walk at lunch, etc. For me, doing these little things adds up to more in my day that any "formal" exercise does.
If it helps put things in perspective, imagine the 60 extra calories @nordlead2005 mentioned via green tea. What if I told you you could burn 60 extra calories by doing dishes instead of using the dishwasher? Just by standing for those extra few minutes BAM, no supplements needed. No money spent. Just standing. Little things like this add up in a day.0
