I'm currently cutting to decrease body fat to 10%. My current weight 162 at 5 foot 9. I'm eating 1600 to 1700 calories a day 170g in carbs and about 140 grams protein. I lift weights 4 times a week focusing on different muscle groups w/ 15 min light cardio. I'm getting weaker since cutting. I do 30 minutes cardio on non lifting days. The MFP app suggested 1600 calories to reach my goal. Should I be eating more to prevent loss of muscle and strength? Really don't know what to do just to focus on loosing fat. Please help!

Not uncommon to get weaker. While you try to preserve muscle, some gets lost when you cut. It's inevitable even if you're on PED's.

Do you think I should up my calorie intake a little since I lift weights and do cardio 5 to 6 times a week? Was thinking 1700 to 1800 calories
  • How long have you been cutting for? If it's more than two or three months, I would definitely incorporate a little "rest" time for your body by adding some more calories back in for a limited amount of time. You can play with it to see how you feel in response to the extra cals and how your weight fluctuates. Good luck!

Cutting for 1 month now. Been going30 days straight, no rest days. I'm gonna up my calories to 1800 and squeeze some rest days in there. Thanks for your advice.
