Yeah. Go back in time and start about two months ago (at least).

Darn these total-surprise reunions that no-one ever knows about until impossibly close to the date!

Yeah not gonna happen. Should have started 2 months ago. You may possible lose half that, but in reality, even that much won't show much of a difference.

Thank you guys for the extremely helpful info. I look on these threads and I always see people speaking in the negative which is ironic for so many people trying to achieve a positive. Yes, it is a ridiculous feat to lose 15 pounds in 25 days but if I were a person with more knowledge trying to motivate another people I would respond like this "That's not a good idea and probably not possible but you could possibly lose 7 pounds if you (insert great fitness advice)"

If you are very careful with your calories and exercise regularly (and at a good level of exertion), you will definitely make progress and you will feel more confident that you have started your journey. Even if you don't lose 15 pounds, you can lose some and the confidence you gain will shine through.

I basically dole out tough love. It may not be your style, but you can't expect that everyone is going to be rainbows and unicorns in their responses.
Eat a little less than you burn and let your body lose weight up to the date you're shooting for. Whatever happens happens.

derishaig, the majority of the community here are in it for the long haul. They will give advice that is wise, and healthy. Trying to lose 15 pounds in 25 days is neither, so it's not surprising you aren't getting a lot of encouragement.

I would spend the time to shop for an outfit that is flattering to your shape and style. Go to your reunion with confidence, and rock your new dress.

If you choose a healthy pace to lose weight, you will find a lot of support and encouragement here. Start now. Be the weight you want to be for that job interview in a few months. For when you run into your ex at a Christmas party. For YOU, because you are worth being healthy for.

So you know what response you want, and are upset you didn't get it?

You've set yourself a goal that's a bit unrealistic for healthy weight loss but, it's definitely possible to make progress in the next couple of weeks. Keep tracking your food, try to get a good mix of your macros, fibre, water and exercise and you're bound to be feeling better. The big thing to focus on here is that you're on the journey which is a huge step in the direction of healthier, and possibly further than you've been before now.

I had my 20 year reunion for graduating high school earlier this year and I can tell you from experience that the people who are genuinely interested in what's been happening in your life (since school/college) probably won't be thinking about your weight. Stand tall, be proud of who you are and let your confidence blind the critics.

Who knows, you might find that everyone else has found pounds you've lost. That's what happened to me. Just about everyone that had teased me about my weight in high school had 'porked up' (they found the kilos I lost and more) in the 20 years it took me to get to a healthy weight range. The irony of that certainly wasn't lost on me.
Have fun at your reunion :-)

That's not a good idea and probably not possible but you could possibly lose 7 pounds if you did CICO.

How long have you known about your college reunion? Why the rush to lose 15 pounds in such a short time?

Forget it. Your plan is not healthy, and you will not lose it that quickly anyway because you have so little to lose.

Here's what I would do: set your goals to lose .5 pounds a week, eat at a calorie deficit, and see what happens by the time your reunion comes around. Even if you've lost just a few pounds, you might feel much better!

If these people are truly your friends, they will accept you whether you are fat, skinny or somewhere in between. Besides this, your job is to just go and have a really great time!

You ask a question then tell us how we should have answered you? That just doesn't seem quite kosher to me. Seriously, people are being honest. ;)

    Hi :)

I'd say your goal isn't majorly realistic. I'm sure it can be achieved but why put yourself and your body under so much pressure just for an event that will last a mere few hours? You shouldn't lose weight just for a specific event, it should be for your health. My concern is you want to drop these pounds FAST for the event and then go back to your old behaviours once it's been and gone. Please reconsider your goals and why you want to do this and I mean that in the friendliest way possible. MFP will help you find a fantastic routine to keep you on track for life :)

Be realistic. You should have started 4-7 months ago if you wanted to lose 15 lbs.
You don't have a lot to lose. Most people won't notice that you weigh just 15 lbs more. You'd probably be better off just finding a great outfit.
If you want to lose weight then you should set your goal for .5 lbs a week and eat the calorie goal MFP gives you. Lose 2-3 lbs in 25 days. Continue your weight loss efforts past your reunion date, reach your goal in a reasonable amount of time and learn to maintain your weight long term.
You might set your goal for 1 lb a week and lose maybe 4-5 lbs in 25 days. That is probably the best you can do.

You can lose about 3-5 lbs in this time. It will be a start if you are looking for motivation. Will it be noticeable to anyone else but you at the reunion? Sadly, no.

Well lose the 7 lbs the healthy way with cico, and Then do one of the many options that makes you lose water weight. Might not be 14 lbs but I bet you could get close. You'll gain it all back but since you just seem to want to do it for one event sounds like that might be a solution for you.

    eat at a deficit.

youll lose some weight, but not nearly what you want to. keep at it, and youll never have to worry about 'the next event that has been known about for 20 years but im just now freaking out' event....
