Unused Calories

Hello, I just started MFP two days ago and my co-worker started last week. She and I were wondering is the unused calories we have for a day can be used for another day, "cheat day?" I was a member with WW and we were able to use our unused pointes for our "cheat days." I would think no, since it is calories per day type of thing, but any info. would be helpful. Thanks!

WW gives you extra points to use for a cheat day, but it still wanted you to get your assigned points in for each day. In other words, feel free to save some up, but don't save too many up - you still want to eat during the day. :D

Ultimately you are looking for a 3500 calorie deficit each week to lose 1 lb.

I would suggest a cheat meal, not a cheat day. Try to keep it in check and make sure you are active on the day you plan on having that meal.

Of course you can save calories for a cheat day. I do it all the time and the weight is just falling off me.

Weight loss is not linear, just because you go over one day or under another doesn't mean in the end you will gain or lose weight. I went over by 1089 3 days ago, and yesterday the scale read my lowest weight yet.

What I personally do is shoot for an average for the week of whatever my goal calories are. So between going over, spot on, or under...as long as I'm close at the end of the week I call it a win.

Just stick with it for a while, see what works for you so that you have something that isn't a huge change in your lifestyle and something you can sustain long term.
