Over the last month I have been loosing (or gaining if after a cheat day) weight slowly each day, but over the last three days I have stayed at exactly the same weight. I have been tracking calories carefully and working out. I should be on track to lose 2lbs a week so loosing nothing in the last three days is making me worried that I messed up my metabolism. Any ideas what could be going on? Or should I not worry for a while still?

Weight loss is not linear. May be you should use your scale every week instead of every day. A plateau is more like 6 weeks long not three days.

Patience grasshopper. You are going to have days like this and probably weeks eventually. Totally normal. You did not (nor will you) mess up your metabolism.

3 days is not a plateau. 3 months might be a plateau. 3 days is nothing. Patience - that's what you're missing.

Don't stress about it. As others have said, it's just a weight fluctuation and you'll see them all of the time. Sometimes temporary water gain will disguise fat loss and then you'll suddenly drop just as much weight as you would have lost slowly over the intervening days. Water retention can happen from too much sodium in your food, strenuous exercise or hormonal changes.

I second this. I stayed at 181 for two months and at 170 for at least 3 weeks before getting passed it. It happens. Do not let it get you down. Do not give up. Progress, not perfection.

I'll echo what others have said - 3 days is not a plateau.

You mention 'Cheat Days' and gaining afterwards - could this be the reason for your weight loss 'slowing' somewhat? Do you go quite overboard on your 'cheat days'? Apologies for the phrase being in inverted comma's but I don't agree with the term 'cheat'. Every one is allowed a treat - but moderation is key :)

Totally normal! I go at least three days (sometimes a lot more) without the scale moving every week. This week it's been the same for 6 days. At some point it'll be on the move again. Progress occurs over time, don't be in a rush :)

Thanks, I'm mostly worried because I don't even feel hungry most of the time. I don't remember ever eating so few calories and feeling so full and satisfied. That made me worried I was messing something up. My diet change will at least be sustainable lol

@PinkPixiexox "cheat days" is right they were the days that I allowed myself to have higher calorie foods that I had set out for a party cheese and such. I don't think I went over bored those day and I continued to drop each day I ate right. So it was a bit of confusion about the3 days with no change that should have made me stable.

Why? Water weight. Different things can make you retain water and that can alter the # you see on the scale. High sodium, lack of sleep, stress, new or more intense workout routine, TOM/hormones are some of the common reasons.

If you're confident you are eating at a deficit, give it time. Your body is not an efficient machine. With your bank account, if you make a cash deposit your balance updates automatically. Not so with your body. Sometimes what you do today will take 1-3-5-? days to make its impact. Weigh in as often as you want, but compare your weight now to your weight 30 days ago. If you weigh less than you did a month ago, you're doing something right.
