Bring to Work Breakfast/Lunch Ideas

Sigh... trying to get back on track! The hardest part of any diet, for me, is avoiding the multiple temptations that surround my office building. Whenever I look at "diet plans" the menus include ridiculously difficult to prepare and transport breakfast and lunches. I really don't need fancy - just something that can maybe be prepared on Sunday and kept in the refrigeration during the week. Any ideas that work for you? Please share!

For Breakfast:
Premade protein shakes
Egg whites (you can microwave them)
Leftovers from the night before (who says breakfast has to be breakfast foods!)
Lunch:
Salad with some shredded chicken - I have a big round plasitc container and it I put 2oz of Spinach + 1 oz of mushrooms + 4 oz of chicken + 2 oz of broccoli + 2 oz of grape tomatoes. I have the dressing in a little container and toss that in the bowl too. It fits in my lunch bag as well
Wraps are a good alternative to sandwiches
Once again - leftovers from last night's dinner0 -
It's not Sunday, but oats are easy to prepare for the work week.Right now I have a boneless turkey breast in the slow cooker. There are many recipes on line for using it. Add to sandwiches, wraps, casseroles, pasta dishes, salads & soups.
Don't forget yogurt, hard boiled eggs, veggie sticks, fruit, maybe cheese or chips. Whatever works with your own food plan.0 -
For breakfast, I almost always have 3:1 egg white to whole egg scramble with either taco seasoned ground turkey or honeysuckle turkey breakfast sausage mixed in with the eggs. I will cook and season turkey on Sundays, that way during the week all i have to do is mix the protein when I scramble the eggs.
I use McCormick's Grillmates marinades to marinade (love the Baja Citrus) a few #s of chicken on Sunday, bake, portion, and throw in fridge.Same with rice,I make enough servings of brown rice for the week, portion and fridge. That way all you have to do is put the food in your lunch pale and go.
Turkey taco salad is also a favorite, brown the meat on Sunday, and the night before prep veggies.0 -
My breakfast is always the same
Better Oats Oatmeal w/ flax (many varieties)
Almonds (i put mine in the oatmeal)
Coffee
Lunch My favorite so far is
1 grilled turkey patty season to taste
1 serving of black beans
1 or 2 servings of spinach
some Jalepeno slices
warm everything except the spinach once everything is heated drop in the spinach yummy0 -
My weekday breakfast consists of instant oatmeal plain, flax seed, a apple, Cinnamon and a cup of green tea. I keep a supply of everything in my desk except for the apple which I bring in every few days and keep in the fridge. The apple is sliced 1/2 I dice up and put in the oatmeal/flax seed/cinnamon you just need a microwave to make this up. Tons of fiber almost 1/2 of your days worth and 5 grams of protein, some sugar for a quick boost of energy and caffeine in the green tea. This is a healthy breakfast too, oatmeal is good to help lower cholesterol, green tea has antioxidant, flaxseed has omega 3 fatty acid and lignans which has more antioxidant properties, the apple, well everyone knows the saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" but I also hear that some really bad gas can do the same but I digress to a 3rd grader mentality.0

my go to breakfast is an egg "mcmuffin" whole wheat english muffin, cooked egg, fat free cheese slice and 1 slice ham or bacon, you can make them ahead and pop them in the microwave. even when making the day of its quick and easy.
Lunch is salad you can find all kinds of additions to put in so it doesnt have to be the same every day. I prep the veggies on Sundays for the week I also make my own salad dressing in jars and keep it in the fridge. Just shake and portion out what you need.0
