Vacation coming up

I'm 73 (next month) and been using a Fit Bit Flex for just over a month now. I've lost very little weight but I have lost inches so all is not lost. I'm about to go on my yearly vacation....this is not a usual vacation. ... We moved to Costa Rica 12 years ago and I visit the States once a year and indulge in all the foods I can't get here in CR. I really look forward to this yearly trip but now I feel guilty and worried I will gain back the 6# I've managed to lose over the past few months. I usually gain 5# on my yearly trip but manage to drop those pounds rather quickly. I really need some encouragement as I really don't want to deprive myself on my 13-day vacation.

I always gain when traveling—but it's mostly water, so it comes back off pretty quickly. And I'm always more active on vacation—so much to see and do.

Have a great trip! If you're crossing time zones, your Fitbit adjustments might get a little wonky. Don't panic!

Fitbit has a page about travel: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/I-m-going-on-a-trip-What-should-I-know-about-traveling-with-my-Fitbit/

Everything in moderation. Try for lean meats , fish, fruits and vegetables. My kids are going to Costa Rica next year but I'm waiting for Hawaii next May if my Doctor lets me fly( blood clots),. Have a great vacation!

Thanks for all the encouragement. I will be crossing time zones, Florida is 2 hours ahead of Costa Rica and I was wondering about that. I guess it really doesn't matter though. I will be more active, lots of shopping. I always shop for clothes and bring back lots of Christmas presents for the family here in CR. I know there will be lots of walking at the airports for at least two of those days. I've heard it's very hot in FL right now so maybe not so much walking outside but I have my walking videos to use inside. I live in the mountains of CR so not used to hot weather. Now I'm going to check out that Fitbit page about travel, thanks editorgrrl

Has anyone gone through airport security wearing their Fitbit Flex? I hate to have to take it off since it's so difficult to put back on. There is that little piece of metal on the clasp and I think it may be a problem, dang! I've been wearing it for a month now and it is getting easier to put back on, using hand cream, but still not easy!
