AWESOME. I did it. I burned it all off this morning (an hour on the stationary bike and elliptical) and afternoon (2 hour hike with the boyfriend and the dog). I feel awesome. Thanks for all the great comments! We'll see how it plays out on the scale during my weekly weigh-in tomorrow! :)

We got a freaking giant pizza over the three day weekend. Other than the sodium already mentioned, if you burn most or all of it off, it's not going to hurt you. If I couldn't occasionally indulge in something really good.... well I'd never stay a stable weight.

This is one thing I love again about hiking, or better yet backpacking. Go for a 6-8 hour walk with weight on your back and not only CAN you eat just about anything, you almost have to. I tend to go for 2 days without a big uptick in the calories eaten (I maybe eat an additional 800 calories per day when I am hiking or backpacking) , I mean who wants to carry the extra weight, so I end with a good deficit - until I get something to eat on the way home - still a good deficit but not as much. My extensive research this year has shown me that after a big hike, even if I finish with a cheat-ish meal, my weight stays about the same one Monday as it was on Friday, but then about mid week I see a jump down, which never comes back. I've been telling myself it is about sodium intake and water retention based on backpacking meals and way home meals.

    I have enjoyed this "research"

1200-1800 calories as in... that's how much exercise you're doing? Cause that's... alot of exercise.

Pizza though... I'm into pizza. I had pizza for lunch. I fit it into my calorie goal.
