weightloss problems including hormones

So i have been trying to lose weight since my son was 2 months old. he is now 19 months old. I have been on and off but generally good( if you know what i mean) Finally a month ago the doctors did tests and found that one of my hormones is low.. their explanation was the best way to get it back up was to lose about 5kiloes and keep it off for a while BUT he then said that because it is low i will struggle to get the weight off and keep it off BUT no other help....... So this is why i have been finding it so hard. I am now back to using My fitness pal. I have noticed i struggle to keep under my suger. Any help or advice to try and shift this weight would be great full. I have tried every diet going but it works for 2 weeks then nothing.

I'm not a fan of Doctors' "advice" when it comes to weight loss. I had a routine check-up 5 months ago and after stepping on the scale, my doctor said "You've put on quite a lot of weight". I burst in to tears because I was in total denial until that moment. His advice "Cut out carbs". After joining MFP and educating myself, I realised he was talking utter rubbish.
I think your best bet is to stick with the boards, take the doctors advice with a pinch of salt. Medically they know what their talking about but weight loss .. seek second opinions. Someone who knows their stuff about nutrition is probably your best bet. Wishing you the best of luck0 -
I have low thyroid hormones, and I lost the weight just like everybody else—by eating fewer calories than I burn. Learn to log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Logging works.

i cant remember if it was estrogen i think i cant be 100% sure on this. well i have followed diet/healthy eating 100% and also exercised. either or both. and this weight wont shift. I have even played around with how many calories i am eating.

When I eat foods with a high sugar and low protein and fat ratio, I never feel satisfied and want to eat and eat and eat. So, I reduced baked goods and foods with added sugar and snack a lot less now. I eat more fruit and make sure I get plenty of fiber.

The weight loss you experience in the first 2 wks is mostly water weight. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum to learn more about eating at a calorie deficit. This is what will help you achieve long term weight loss.0

Hormones are constantly in flux and in competition, so you need multiple readings over time to make any sort of diagnosis.
Track your hunger times and see if there's any consistency. Try drinking 1-2 cups of water 30 mins prior to these times or use some other filling low calorie food.
The key to this is consistency, so implement small changes, set small goals - hit them and make a new small goal.0
