I have a hard time with cheating because if I cheat I go all out. Then I'm annoyed rhe next day because the scale is way higher. I think my favorite cheat foods are buttery movie popcorn and ice cream. My cheat days usually only happen about once a month.... Usually after I've gone down my next 10 lbs. I'm not sure it's worth it for me though.

If something doesn't seem worth it, then it probably isn't. You don't have to consume excess calories just to do it.

I will have days when I go over my calories, but I don't really do "cheat days." I just have a day where something sounds especially good and I decide to consume it. If I had trouble deciding whether something was worth it, I would conclude that it probably wasn't.

Oh it definitely isn't worth it but it's something that gets the better of me once in a while.

I don't "cheat", but on maintanence days I usually have ice cream and Milk Duds. Heck, I have those on non "cheat" days too. But they fit it better on higher calorie days.

I eat at a calorie deficit every. single. day. BUT I eat exactly what I want. Maybe just not as big a portion. I also find by doing that for the last 2 months, i have never felt guilty or deprived. So I don't do cheat days. I am only cheating myself.

I always think about cheating, then log the calories and think about it some more. Usually I find it's not worth it. It's easier to work something nice into my calories, even if that maybe means doing an extra workout or something.

I think of it like treating myself, instead of cheating, and I don't feel bad about it.

I read on a blog about having cheat meals instead of cheat days. Works better for me, keeps me from pigging out all day.

Lots of threads on this and it's interesting to see people's opinions :)
I don't really aim to have a 'cheat meal'. I try to make sure I'm tracking and keeping under/at my deficit. If a special occasion comes up - I'll let myself enjoy it. But right now, haven't had the opportunity arise!

If I 'cheat', it just means I didn't eat at a deficit that day and probably got super close to my TDEE of 2200 cals. I aim for about a 500 cal deficit each day. I've been meeting my goals no problem and still eat things like bacon cheeseburgers, Chipotle bowls and homemade cookies. Check out my diary, yo!

When I cheat, it is typically during a meal out. I still try to order a healthier option and stop eating when I'm full, but I definitely consume more than I need to. Sometimes I will cheat at a party as well. My cheats usually involve me being health conscious, but I let loose a little and do not necessarily track every single calorie.

I also don't have a cheat meal or cheat day. However, I'm not on a diet. I eat mainly healthful foods and I'm in the gym 6 days a week, taking 2 classes or doing a class and a machine.

If I want a treat, it's a small amount of good ice cream, or a small amount of nuts.
