Fat girl in the frat house.
What type of reactions would she get? What would you honestly think? Would anyone think anything at all.

Honestly? I'd think "Good for her! I hope she continues to come here." and I'd secretly cheer her on.0

I'd smack myself for paying so much attention to other people in the gym and not my own workout.0 -
"*kitten* yeah, lady!!!"
And I'd do the little head-nod of respect if we made eye contact.0 -
Get in there! You are in the wrong gym if you aren't getting help and respect from other lifters. No matter what your size, age, or sex.
Edit to clarify that you aren't the one in the wrong but those in that gym are. So find a better gym.0 -
It's good to see more women at the gym0

Gotta respect anyone who is willing to put in the work.0

"What are you doing in my house?", but then again I workout at home.
At a public gym, I'm glad anyone type of person is there improving themselves. Until they're using the equipment I want to use, then I intensely hate them for a few minutes of walking around or moving to another exercise out of my planned order.0 -

A smile. A nod. And think, good on you! :-)0

I wouldn't even notice her tbh.0

This is some great stuff. It is unfortunate that not too many woman are in the weight room.

I might notice, only because I'm typically one of only a few women there and it's always nice to see another one. Beyond that, who cares? There are men of every shape/size there, from underweight to obese, and nobody comments.0

Gotta respect heavy lifters.0

I am a woman so I would be happy to see another woman lifting. When my schedule helps me be at the gym at the same type as other women, it is always nice.0

I would casually say hello
I remember my first day in the gym
Some people are nice
Some people.... They name bags after them.0 -

You're going to the wrong gym
Mine's part of a major health care system and includes a significant rehab component, so I guess I'm lucky to have a diverse group.
There are almost as many women as men in the free weight section. There's a good chunk of folks doing rehab work including some really elderly individuals (one guy is 90+, he uses straps and not weights), and a good proportion of uncoordinated noobs as well (still include myself in this group). This along with some power lifters and other serious athletes. So I probably wouldn't pay much attention beyond 'don't remember seeing her before'.0
