Hi everyone. I'm trying to do Atkins and work out my net carbs. Under my Nutition totals do i subtract fibre from total carbs or has My Fitness Pal already down that with the total carbs? I'm a bit confused?

I believe you have to do it yourself manually, ie pen and paper it. Total carbs - fiber.

It depends on what food items you are logging. Other MFP users have indicated that nutrition labels in most countries except the US are required to report fiber - I assume insoluble fiber, but I am note sure - separate from total carbohydrates. In general, the majority of Nutrition Facts labels for food products manufactured or packaged for US sale include insoluble fiber in the total carbohydrate count. However, the US FDA allows for multiple methods to calculate nutritional information; which means that manufacturers can and in some cases do subtract insoluble fiber from the total Calories reported on Nutrition Facts labels - notable items that use this method are whole foods such as beans and legumes that are high in insoluble fiber.
It will remain difficult to track actual net carbohydrates that contribute to total Calories until there is a global standard for reporting of net carbohydrates on nutrition labels. I doubt that will happen in the near future.
