I nornally weigh myself every Saturday morning and have been slowly losing lbs each week which is great however this week on Tuesday and Wednesday I had a special occasion to attend to (friends birthday) and although I tracked my cals with all the cocktails I had a consumed a lot! Also ate as well so you can imagine. Anyway on the Thursday and Friday I went back to healthy eating and exercising but when weighing myself this morn I am 2lbs up
is this like normal or have a really done permanent damage here? I feel awful but I hardly ever go out these days because I don't want to spoil my weight loss but it was like two days in like the past like 3 months

Of course it's not permanent damage...
You ate enough calories to get to the weight where you thought "I should lose weight"... would that not cause permanent damage?0 -
Next time maybe skip that week's weighing if a temporary gain causes you distress. You might be retaining water and still have extra volumes of food in your system. Try not to worry. I try to make sure I'm always in a slight deficit for the week, even if something special is going on. If I remain in a weekly deficit, then I know any temporary bump in weight is just temporary.0

its not real weight. i will fall off within a few days.
and if weight fluctuations bother you, you might want to consider weighing once a month.0 -
Can you explain what you mean by 'Permanent Damage'?0
-
Could also be TOM-related. A 2 lb fluctuation is nothing to be concerned about, unless you are gaining 2 lbs *every* week.0

It's a 'special occasion', Give yourself a break.
If I didn't gain weight over a holiday (Christmas for example) I'd consider myself a bit ODD!
Carry on as you are, this isn't going to stall you AT ALL.0 -
I'm up a 1/4 of a lb today! How is that even possible I ate under my calories and exercised yesterday and also upped my water intake
was not what I was hoping for this morning at all.

The body is an organism, not a machine. Fluctuations happen for all sorts of valid reasons. Weighing daily will cause you to worry unnecessarily unless you accept that.0

Youre probably still carrying water weight I find that alcohol can be a right b**** when it comes to the scale! A couplemof drinks cannlasr a week even two on the scale for ms and then allnof a sudden it dissapears. Dont sweat it hun, you will be alright0 -
* a couple of drinks can last
Dear lord, I need to proof read0 -
Your body can go up and down by a LOT in just 24 hours. My weight can fluctuate up to 2kgs (4.4 pounds) each day. It comes down to how much food is in you (both food on it's way in and food on it's way out), salt (water retention) and a few other hormonal things.
To put it in perspective, I recently had a 2 week holiday where for 2 weeks I ate and drank whatever I want with "no logging, no calories, no worries". I'm sure I DRANK my maintenance every day. I was lazy and gluttonous and had a great time! For me, it's about balance - I want to enjoy my holidays and that means food and booze so they are a MFP free zone. The day after I got back I was up 5kgs!! Two days later I was only 2kgs up and a week later I was back to where I was before I left.
One "bad" day will NOT ruin your weightloss long term - it will just make the scale say funny things for a little bit until your body evens out.0 -
