Underestimating calories

I was on a plateau and came to the forum for advice. I was told that I was probably unintentionally eating too many calories. I was measuring here and there, but wasn't being completely honest to myself about. Since I started diligently measuring, I have found I was underestimating rather than over estimating. For instance, my daily banana is closer to 90-100 calories based on weight and I was counting for 110. I was overestimating meat, butter, etc. anyone else find that to be the case? I am losing again, but because I lowered my daily total.

Yes. I've found that I almost always over estimate when I guess. I'm aware of the studies that say most people over estimate, so I've always tried hard to not do that. When I make myself weigh and measure I end up eating more food (volume) than when I guess.
I'm also baffled by that (rather silly, IMO) video that shows how supposedly easy it is to over measure when using measuring spoons and cups. I'm thinking the person who made that video was either intentionally engaging in hyperbole to try and prove his point, or he's ignorant about even the most basic rules of cooking.0 -
