Hello friends, I'm new to the process of posting. I normally keep to myself. I started a weight loss program (again) and I want this to be my last. I'm a 53 yr female who is tired of weight programs. So I've come to the conclusion (which you would think at my age I'd have the weight thing down, but I struggle) this is a life style changing mind-control program. My goal is to lose 70 lbs by May 2016. Then start maintenance program thereafter. Funny thing is; I'm finding my program (1500 calories/ per day along with 21 day fit program) not as hard as my previous weight loss program. How can that be? I'm not looking a gifted horse! So, as I mentioned I started a week ago sunday. I'm down 4lbs! My husband is super supportive, helps me count calories, helps with food prep and also gives peep talks! I've changed jobs (less stressful) and changed my career at 50! Life is good, so I'm thinking this is why my program is that difficult? Anyway, thanks for reading.. I would love to lend support to those who are in need... I'm here to help!

Hey, you're sounding like you have a plan! That matters! Let's do this. I have at least 50# to lose. I've decided not to place a timeline on it. Its so frustrating when you have a deadline; I think I need to find out how many calories I can comfortably eat per day. Then I can slow the weight to fall off until it stabilizes. This way at least I know I'll be able to maintain the loss. Gotta do it differently this time around.0

Welcome to MFP. I am a 45 year old female and started MFP with 125 pounds to lose. But now, five months later I've only got 74 pounds to go. And I say only 74 pounds because like you, for some reason, I find this really easy. I don't usually say that on the public forum here because I know a lot of people are really struggling but I don't know what it is. This whole process has been EASY. I've done many diets before and I always struggled and had a very difficult time staying dedicated to them. But this time is different. Over the last few months I've tweaked my strategy to make it fit for my lifestyle and it's working great. I've lost 50+ pounds in five months and it's only a matter of time before I reach my goal weight. I'm not even worried about not getting there anymore because I have no doubt I will. Take your time and develop habits that will stay with you forever. And don't think of it as a diet that you're going to eventually stop. Make changes to how you eat that will last a lifetime.0

Hello and welcome to MFP!
I wish you the best of luck in your journey, and I'm going to give you a bit of advice. Hopefully I don't take the wind out of your sails.
I try not to put a time frame on my weight loss. 70 lbs in 8 months? That's an average weight loss of over 2 lbs per week. Not saying it's not doable, but it's not going to be easy. Weight loss is not linear. There will be weeks where you do everything right, step on the scale and don't see a loss....or even see a gain.
Work with the number MFP gives you. Weigh all your food, log everything faithfully, and the weight will come off when it comes off.0
