Back after hiatus

Hi everyone!
Over the last 3 years or so on MFP I lost 128 lbs. I took a hiatus almost a year ago and in that time have managed to put back on 38 lbs. Words can't even describe the guilt I feel and how ashamed I am. I was so close to goal and I started eating out a LOT again and didn't exercise like I used to. No excuses really as to WHY. It just tasted good and I kept at it I guess. 5 months ago I started noticing that my clothes were fitting much tighter. I could no longer button my formerly loose size 12 jeans and my medium shirts no longer looked or felt right. I was avoiding mirrors and scales like the plague. Next thing I know, boom! I am now in a loose 16 and hovering between large and xl shirts. I really have no one to blame but myself. I need to lose the rest of this weight and keep it off for good. I didn't gain it overnight and I know I won't lose it overnight. I put in the work once and I can do it again. Just need some more motivation and support from my peers. Thanks for listening!

Welcome back
First of all, please take the guilt off of yourself. These things happen, unfortunately - we get side tracked and we fluctuate so please don't punish yourself over your weight gain. The important thing is, you've addressed it and you are ready to make some changes to your lifestyle. You've done this before (and congratulations, what an incredible loss) so you certainly have the motivation and the knowledge to do this properly and successfully. Wipe the slate clean, forget about the blame game and concentrate on a happier, healthier *you* Wishing you the best of luck0
