i have not had a good day today. I've been quite lazy today and ended up eating too many peanut butter pretzels.
I didn't work out either. I feel so yucky.

I'm rarely motivated, I just get up and make good choices! If it's important, you'll do it0

Don't be to hard on yourself... Sometimes our bodies just need a break. Just look at the bigger picture and and once you're body is rested just go out and kick butt like you now that you can!0

It's just one day. It won't undo all your progress unless you let it. You just get back to it the next day.Cortneyrenee04 wrote: »I'm rarely motivated, I just get up and make good choices! If it's important, you'll do it
And yeah, this. Nobody but you can find the motivation. Some days I don't feel like doing anything, but I make myself go to the gym anyway... I mean, I'm not motivated to brush my teeth either, but I got to do it because I like cavities even less.
It's really your choice... Decide what matters to you.0 -
I need daily motivation so I created a group today...maybe it will help!

When I fail, I focus on not letting one failure turn into a chain of failures. You know - "I messed that up so today's a writeoff. Let's order some pizza!". Instead, it's easier for me to think Whoah, that was bad. But if I average it across my whole good week, it's OK. I'll use that as my cheat day and skip my meal out with my family, and then get back on track next week..
I do allow myself one cheat day per week, where I can eat more than I should, knowing that averaged out over my pretty stringent weeks it won't really kill my deficit. My eating isn't great, but my diary is open.

I do see motivation is nothing more than a decision to act with follow through. Regardless where I have been active or at the computer all day I walk a quarter mile daily even if it is midnight and the temperature is 13F degrees. Some see Excessive Compulsive behavior as a disorder. I am starting to see it as a blessing as long the behavior is improving my mind/body or both hopefully. There are good and bad habits so I try to make sure I put my Excessive Compulsive energy doing good habits.
My dad early on learned out to harness my Excessive Compulsive Behavior on the farm doing good things.0 -
I stopped worrying about motivation, and am working on staying accountable to myself.
I feel like 'motivation' implies that you'd like to do something - and wouldn't it be awesome if we always wanted to go for a run or not eat something tasty and full of calories.
Sometimes you need to do things even when you are tired and unmotivated. Do them anyway. You'll be proud of yourself and that's when you'll start feeling more motivation.0 -
Echoing previous comments, is just one day. There is a phrase that says try again, fail again, fail better. I try to apply that to my life, and I've been getting better. In the past i used to have bad days that turned to worse because of my compulsive eating, luckily, those days are less frequent, which is a victory. Ususally the way I motivate myself is going to the gym early in the morning, so the sacrifice is double: working out and waking up early.0
