So, I wasn't planning to do this because I know it's been done do death but I'm at a loss. Here's what I need: I need a fitness tracker that is waterproof or resistant enough that it won't get damaged when I do dishes in a commercial kitchen at work (not often, but often enough), that will track my daily activity as well as my pace and distance for runs. I purchased a Misfit Shine on the advice of some sports store employees and am sadly disappointed that it does NOT track my pace, that I can tell. I mean yes, it tells me I went x miles in x minutes but I run/walk so I want something that can be more accurate and replace Runkeeper. I do NOT need a hrm because I'm on beta blockers so it's no use to me anyway. What are your thoughts?

Polar M400. DC Rianmaker has reviewed this product.

Garmin Vivoactive. Waterproof. DC Rainmaker has done this one as well, although his review is a bit out of date as there have been some software updates since his review. I've found Garmin Connect easy to use as well. It shows distance, time, average pace, best pace, elevation, calories, elapsed time, segments, running cadence, max running cadence, average stride length -- and a little map that shows a virtual you completing your run (for some reason I love this) ... Will do much of the same metrics for cycling as well. I have not used it for swimming but it is designed for that too.
It has a step counter, and you can be part of step competitions with other users if you wish. You can also set up a Dashboard and track gear, set goals, view steps and sleeping, create workouts, etc.
This is also a smart watch kind of device and will pair with a phone and notify you of emails, phone calls, texts, alerts, weather, music controls, and so on. There is also a Live Track feature so friends can check in and see where you are in your run or ride (I haven't tried it, but have no reason to believe it wouldn't work).
You can buy the Vivoactive with or without a HRM (it's cheaper without, obviously). If, later on, you want to get a HRM, you can, and if it is ANT+ it will pair with the Garmin.
I found it on sale at JC Penney, but bought mine at Best Buy (they price matched it).
Oh -- if the wristband gets really gross, you can replace it easily. Mine goes about 5 days between charges (using the GPS on long bike rides drains the battery pretty quickly).
