Using an existing recipe as a template and sharing a recipe with a friend?
Is it possible to create a new recipe in MFP based on an existing recipe you already have?
I've got some recipes and I like to tweak them to adjust some ingredients but when I do I have to create the entire thing over again just to swap out something, is there not a way to create a new recipe that's based on an existing one and then just make the modifications instead of having to re-create the thing from scratch?
The other is once I have a recipe is there an easy way to share it with a friend w/o them having to manually re-create what you have already done? Is there a send to friend option that I'm missing?
Thanks!

Here are two answers I have posted before. We used to be able to search for and use our saved Recipes; however, we lost that capability in the Great Recipe Importer Fiasco of October 2014.
There are two methods to work around this issue. One method is to log the first Recipe in your Food Diary, then save it as a My Meals item; when you add the My Meals item to the new Recipe, it will populate each individual item from the My Meals item into your new Recipe so that you can then edit the individual ingredients if needed. The second method is to create a personal My Foods item based on the nutritional information for one serving of your first Recipe (please do not share it with the public database); when you add the My Foods item to the new Recipe, you will only be able to edit the quantity of the My Foods item in your new Recipe, and it will only appear as one ingredient.
For both of these methods, you must use the Old Recipe Calculator, found on the Web version only, to create the new Recipe.
Please see these articles, and search for other helpful articles, on the MFP Help pages...

There is a work around.
User1 creates a Recipe and logs it to a Meal.
User2 opens User1's Diary (shared with public, friends only, or locked with a key)
User2 clicks Quick Tools and copies User1's Meal to his/her Diary.
