Does when you exercise make a difference?

A new 24hr gym has opened near where I work and I'm just curious if the time of day/night affects exercise? Sounds like it shouldn't but you never know :)

No, it's the doing it consistently that matters not the time of day.

The only difference it makes is in your ability to sleep. If I exercise late in the day, I find it harder to fall asleep because I'm so hyped up. Due to that, I try to get everything done at least three hours before bedtime. However, other people find that late night exercise helps them fall asleep easier. It all depends on you/your body.

Great point. I was just answering another thread and the same happens to me if I exercise too late.

Also for me personally, sometimes the time of day affects how hard I'll push myself. If I exercise in the morning before work, I know I have to do my recovery eating through the day and also have energy to make it through the day. When I exercise after work or on days off, I know I can wipe myself out if wanted, because I have more recovery time.
