When I binge my brain switches off

Some of you may be fed up of heating me winge. I only have ten pounds to lose but in the last year- if anything, I've gone up a few pounds.
I have this cycle of eating well- about 1600 cals and then suddenly binging. There isn't often crap in the house so it will be maybe 500 -1000 calories but I then feel so stuffed and fed up. As I'm working on a small deficit, this then stalls weight loss which means I then get fed up and give up for a week. Then I get fed up of being over weight and it all starts again.
I seem to have a real difficulty at times linking what I put into my mouth, with how I look and feel. My brain just switches off and I just stuff down food.
For instance, after my evening meal,I've just had 4,slices of bread with salad cream, an. Ice cream lolly and a banana. Not huge amount by some people's standards but it was thrown down my throat in minutes.
I'm also, very up and down with exercise. I've tried every programme there is. I start with huge enthusiasm for a few days and then make excuses to myself what I can't do it and stop for a few weeks. Then I decide something else is great and start that.
Please help me. I'd love to know if anyone can help me to help myself to sort this out.

But do they. It's not the same as say- going out for a nice meal, and enjoying the calories but its this frenzied food grab as if I'll never get to eat again. I'm never going to lose weight if i keep ,doing this. I don't seem to think about it or can't think about anything else.0

I just did the same thing. I looked at a bag of carmel corn..saw the whole thing was 7 servings and then within minutes had swallowed the whole darn thing. Then I felt gross all night but I still ate dinner. The mistake was buying the bag in the first place. I knew I had to wait for kids after basketball post grocery store run so I gave into temptation thinking I would just have 1 serving as a snack. HA!
And for me too--usually there is really nothing "good" to binge on in the house so I end up stuffing myself with a very random collection of healthy foods--just too much of it all at once.
And I have about 10 lbs to go too.
BUT--these episodes are happening less and less often. I find myself sometimes with food in hand, or one bite taken and I can put it down. I just ask myself if I am really hungry or if I am eating to fill another need...boredom, stress, anger whatever it is.
I think you just have to try to figure out what led you to do what you just did and acknowledge it. And then move on. Next time try to stop yourself.
Maybe journal about when it happens and what you think the cause might be. It may give you some insight. But overall I aim for having a good week rather than beat myself up for a bad day here and there.

Okay, I'm not the only one. I end up yelling at myself, trying to figure out why I keep going for more food.0

I'd love to be able to,stop myself. I just don't understand why I can't. Why can't I think about what it's doing to me as I'm doing it.0 -

When you are eating what you assume to be the right amount of calories are you sure you are eating as much as you should be? If you are not eating enough then you're going to end up bingeing. Take a look at this to find out.

I binge. There is no easy way to stop. I try to think about how I will feel if I keep shovelling food into my mouth - not good. When it does happen, don't throw your meal plan for the rest of the day or week out the window because you messed up. It's not an easy thing to overcome.0

It's a new day for me- going to really try and do what people have suggested. Thanks very much.0
