weight loss after plateau equal to calorie deficit prediction? Or?

I wanted to know the answer! If while you maintain for a month but still are in a calorie deficit, if eventually you will lose what you ought to have (eg five pounds in one go instead of a pound per week for a month).
Like, say, water weight masked the loss...I should think that if you were in a deficit, you'd have to be losing somewhere, right? Even if the scale didn't show it...
Was my posting against the rules by the way? Nobody messaged me in an offended tone.
