I'm back to mfp after a long break away.I had a baby six weeks ago and I'm so ready to get back in shape.Having a baby at 41 really takes a different toll on the body! I want my 30 year old self back:) I I'm breastfeeding so if anyone has good advice on the amount of calories I should be having a day that would be great!!!

Congratulations on your new baby
Remember, you've just been through a lot physically so go easy on yourself and allow yourself a little of every thing. Moderation is key! I'm afraid I can't help with the calorie allowance whilst breastfeeding but I imagine there is a lot of information readily available here and generally online. If you want to make doubly sure, I'd check with your doctor. Good luck with motherhood and your weight loss journey!0 -

If you're exclusively breastfeeding then baby takes anywhere from 400 to 700 calories a day from your milk. I give myself 500 cardio on my daily log and it's more of a 500, give or take a hundred. I'm nursing a1 month old so I'm probably more on the high side, once toy start introducing solids then obviously the baby will take less calories from you.0
