I'm back to mfp after a long break away.I had a baby six weeks ago and I'm so ready to get back in shape.Having a baby at 41 really takes a different toll on the body! I want my 30 year old self back:) I I'm breastfeeding so if anyone has good advice on the amount of calories I should be having a day that would be great!!!

Congratulations on your new baby :)

Remember, you've just been through a lot physically so go easy on yourself and allow yourself a little of every thing. Moderation is key! I'm afraid I can't help with the calorie allowance whilst breastfeeding but I imagine there is a lot of information readily available here and generally online. If you want to make doubly sure, I'd check with your doctor. Good luck with motherhood and your weight loss journey!

If you're exclusively breastfeeding then baby takes anywhere from 400 to 700 calories a day from your milk. I give myself 500 cardio on my daily log and it's more of a 500, give or take a hundred. I'm nursing a1 month old so I'm probably more on the high side, once toy start introducing solids then obviously the baby will take less calories from you.
