Scales being wildly different?

I recently started back trying to lose weight again and I weighed myself on a scale I found at work (I work at Goodwill, sorting donated items. It was in my box so I used it lol) and then today less than 2 weeks later I weighed again at my dad's house. This scale says I'm 12 lbs lighter than the other one. The first one was digital, does that mean it was more accurate? Who can I trust?!

One that has been tested with weights. When checking on weight loss stick to the same scale all the time. If you do this it makes no difference of it's off a bit as ypur loss will still show.
Measuring tapes tell the truth and there all the same.0 -
always weigh on the same scale in the same location at the same time of day0

Maybe there was a reason it was donated.0

Haha it was new still in the box so I thought it would be fairly accurate! Thanks for the answers0

If you didn't take them out of the box, they may not have been properly balanced and steady on the floor. My colleague and I were away for work and she wanted to weigh herself after 2 weeks, so we tried a set that were still in the box and the results were under by 17kg for me and. 20kg for her.0

You'll drive yourself nuts weighing yourself on different scales. Stick to one that's accurate.0

It sounds like one of those scales wasn't calibrated properly. The important thing isn't the number, it's that you stick to one scale and that the number keeps going down on that one scale.0
