Posting purposes by me) }
BEVERAGES:
Ales, beers, lagers (though there is an incredible number of gluten–free beers)
Bloody Mary mixes
Coffee, flavored Herbal teas made with wheat, barley, or malt
Malt liquor
Teas, flavored Vodkas distilled from wheat (Absolut, Grey Goose, Stolichnaya)
Wine coolers (containing barley malt)
Whiskey distilled from wheat or barley0 -
Celiac is a real thing, as you know by now. Wheat Belly the book is a complete bunch of hooey.
As far as sources of gluten, there are a lot of foods that have gluten in them that people might not have thought of. Broths, soups, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, (and anything with those sauces in them), shredded cheeses that have anti-caking agents in them (and other foods that also use anti-caking agents); all these foods have gluten.
There's a good app you can download for smartphones called ipiit that will scan barcodes and check for gluten in products for you.
Almost every Worcestershire sauce except Lea and Perrin has gluten in it as well.
Bonus! Cheerios cereals just annouced that they are now gluten free.0 -
