1st ever rugged maniac event!!!!

Been a smoker since I was 11 years old, finally kicked the habit on March 5th of this year, a exactly 4 months before I turned 33. Finally beating that has given me some motivation, and I have been running alot, well for me, the last month and a half. I run about 5 miles every other day. Not fast but not horribly slow. Confidence is feeling pretty good so I've signed up to run the rugged maniac 3 mile obstacle course. Don't think I'm gonna break any records but I'm pumped for it.
Now should I rest the week before the event, or should I just continue to run like normal???? Like I said, don't plan to crush any records, but I wanna be able to complete it with out feeling dead at the end, hahaha
