While I am not new to MFP I have recently renewed a commitment to myself to make some major changes to my lifestyle. Having been overweight since I was about 18, my body issues and self-esteem have deeply entangled themselves with pre-existing social anxiety and depression.
I've made some attempts to lose weight and get in shape in the past, but always struggled to find a healthy -mental- state of mind that could deal with the changes that happen with my body and mind as I do so. This time around, I'm making an honest effort to find that state of mind while I start eating better and getting more physically active.
Since I haven't been at a comfortable... adult weight, I'm not sure what my ultimate goal is, but a general goal I've set for myself is 50 lbs. I'm 27, and an ovo-lacto vegetarian. My diary is closed to all but myself, but I love to talk about vegetarian eating and recipes and ideas. I'm planning to start C25K on Sunday - I've always been in running, and while I've been consistently working out a the gym for about three weeks (cardio and some strength training), I really want to give it a go.
I think that the MFP community is a beautiful thing. From the tips and advice to the unbelievably inspirational success stories. Please add me if you'd like to share some mutual support, accountability and friendship.
