I almost never eat breakfast, because I don't like to. I never considered it fasting.

The plan described is just creating a calorie deficit just like any other diet requires if you want to lose weight.
You simply go without breakfast and eat normally for the rest of the day
Despite all of the other justifications included, the weight loss is coming from eating fewer calories.

It doesn't matter if you skip breakfast, eat breakfast but stop eating at 7 PM, or spread your eating out over the course of the day. As long as your overall calorie intake is lower than the calories that your body uses, you'll lose weight. The important thing is to find what works for you.

Not seeing any real difference between this and the Leangains IF protocol. So yes, loads of people will have tried it!

I find skipping breakfast a very easy way to drop a few hundred calories from my daily total as I'm no more or less hungry by lunchtime whether I've had breakfast or not. I'm not logging my food anymore and breakfast skipping is one of the tools I use to regulate my weight.
Mostly though I eat breakfast as I simply enjoy it.

The stated benefits/advantages of fasted exercise are vastly over-stated for normal people. What fuel you use for exercise has very little bearing compared to your overall calorie balance over a perod of time.
