I'm going to start with I know there are no miracle weight loss cures but we're going on vacation at the end of the month and I wanted to just kind of clean out my system/de-bloat. I will be exercising in addition. Any thoughts, suggestions, or whatnot would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

This will not end well. Also, this does not sound enjoyable why on earth would you want to do this?

Detoxs aren't really real. Our lungs, skin, liver and kidneys do everything our bodies need to detox.

If your going on holiday and your're bloated you could drop your salt intake and cut your carbs for a week before. That will help flatten your tummy. Enjoy your holiday :)

Normally functioning organs do a fine job of detoxing on their own. As far as bloat goes, being bloated with fat can only be combatted by losing that fat. Start now - it's better than not starting and having more to do once you get back from your vacation.

Um... have a good BM? That usually clears me out pretty well.

I'm not sure what you're really trying to accomplish here, because detoxes are a marketing term companies use to sell their products. True detoxes are done in medical facilities with medical professionals. Otherwise, all you need are your already functioning organs, which do the job quite nicely.

So cut down on salt to ~1500 mg per day and keep your carbs below 100g until then. You might lose a couple pounds of water weight. No money spent. No headache of following some silly plan.

Your body detoxes naturally. You don't need to do anything to help it along.

ETA: now with 50% less snark

If you just want temporary results and don't care that you'd be dropping water instead of fat, then lower your sodium and carbs, drink plenty of water, and look at foods that are natural diuretics (like caffeine). It's absolutely not going to do anything in the long run and you'll gain the water back once you return to your normal routine, though.

Unless she's going to stop eating, that's a fruitless battle right there.

I recommend not trusting this man's advice vis a vis cleanses. I tried it and it did nothing for me!

Though his choice of sugary marshmallow treats is unassailable.

Next time, buy my book(s) and use the appropriate cleanse ingredients instead of DIYing it. Don't blame me for your inability to follow basic directions. My attorney(s) will be contacting you about your defamation of my character.
